Bloomerang recommends creating an Organization constituent record for each United Way office from which you receive contributions. When a United Way contribution representing donations from multiple constituents arrives, enter the actual amount of the check (hard credit) as donation from that United Way, and then create soft credits for the constituents who gave to your organization through United Way. You can even change the amount of each soft credit to represent the amount they gave to United Way (i.e., the two $87 soft credits that make up a $174 donation from United Way could be edited to show them soft credit as $100 donors in a recognition list, without affecting actual revenue from an accounting standpoint)
